As I mentioned
in my 2.6.16 blog post, I sometimes work at health fairs during weekend and evening
hours. I like doing this, because it tests my communication skills (I get to
practice my 30-second elevator pitch over and over again!). It gets me away
from my desk for a little while, and it stretches my relationship-building
muscles. I get to interact with new people and programs, and learn about organizations
that are outside of my immediate program area.
There are many
caring, hard-working people in Gadsden County, and at this event, they reminded
me to “Work Hard, Play Harder” :) Thanks, everyone!

It was
difficult to pick one out of the many wonderful organizations represented at
Connecting Communities. I decided to go with the Prescription Assistance Medical Services (PAMS) Program, supported by the Gadsden Community Health Council. Go Gadsden!
